I would automate backups of the weewx database from the pi to my NAS.
I was thinking that the WS-1200IP + a cheap ddwrt router + raspberry pi running weewx could do all of this. (Using a NAS as a preferred destination)Ĥ) The ability to browse through my local data, manipulate it into graphs/charts, and optionally publish it to a website is a plus (weewx seems like a good solution). This may be an entirely different topic, but does anybody have a better way to do this? My main goals are:ġ) Fairly cheap and low maintenance weather stationĢ) Easy to use for my wife: the ambient console + weather underground seems like a good fit hereģ) Automatic logging of data to my local network. If there's no logging ability, I'll probably go with the 1200IP and implement a solution similar to what drsprite posted here:
#Ambient weather 1001 wifi easyweather software archive#
I saw this post and got curious: Does the new easyweather software for the WS-1001 have an option to log or archive the weather data? Or is it merely a real time display similar to the console that comes with the unit? If it does log data, how does it work? Does the program need to be running all the time to log data, or does it pick up the data from when it was last run? Am currently considering WS-1200IP vs WS-1001 WIFI and want a way to be able to store data locally on my network in addition to uploading to weather underground. I'm new to the whole weather station thing and am still doing research as to which unit to purchase.
